For this editorial project, under the theme “endings,” I focused on the fall of the Portuguese dictatorship, not as a closed chapter, as "Chega" gets closer and closer to win. The piece takes the form of an official state document, as if it were a file to be delivered to the PIDE. It consists of 5m “fax” transcribed conversation between two political extremes — my father and myself, that come together like a puzzle. Certain statements are visibly censored, not out of disagreement, but because some statements are simply untrue, or against the constitution. Charts expose false statements through verified statistics, and a printed Constitution appears partially redacted, exposing promises still unmet.
